  1. I have read Simon Clark before and enjoyed his intense imagination but this book is almost unreadable Painful and confusing it starts in the middle of the action without any prior knowledge about the main character, making it hard to even try and like him and care for his future in this story Mason Kantner s life has been flipped upside down he s being chased by creatures that strongly resemble him, down to a matching y shaped scar on his handThe story opens with him staying in an abandoned home [...]

  2. Started very strong and interesting Quickly the description became repetitive and the plot took a twist that broke suspension of disbelief It made me stop and say really That s the explanation for the echomen and their evil drive to kill people I d believe a hackneyed government release of a virus before taking the offered explanation.

  3. I purchased This Rage of Echos and Vampyrrhic both by Clark for about two dollars To be honest there couldn t be a starker contrast I hated this book I had to force myself through it The action was confusing The plot was horrible I simply couldn t get attached to anyone or anything in this book I don t often complain about a book as much as I ve complained about this one I m a book hoarder and yet I couldn t give this book away fast enough.

  4. 3 AND 1 2 STARS The first three chapters of Simon Clark s new book had my jaw on the floor It s a wonderful premise a twist on the bodysnatcher concept that I dove head first into reading The interaction between characters was smooth and organic, and I really liked most of the twists throughout However, the last third seemed like Simon was randomly coming up with things as he wrote them Many things didn t feel crafted or well planned out, with revelations seeming quite silly However, Echoes is s [...]

  5. Very interesting story, but with some very wild and very surprising twists, and not all of them for the better. It is about a guy who keeps meeting people who are turning into him.And the process is getting faster and widespread. The events get out of control then out of nowhere the protagonist pulls out a deus ex machina. If you have ever read the short story that Total Recal is based off of, I felt it was a little like that at the end.

  6. I kid Leisure Horror because I love This Rage of Echoes, with its core conceit of a man on the run from copies of himself, is a bit sophisticated than the gutbucket offerings of Edward Lee and Brian Keene but I liked it anyway.

  7. this is an AWESOME book, great if you like thriller with mild sexual content but it was very good and like the reviews inside say, it keeps you looking over your shoulder to make sure the noise was just the rattiling of the window.

  8. This book would have benefited from an editor The plot was quite circular, especially toward the middle of the novel, and the near constant repetitive descriptions got tiring after a while However, the story was entertaining enough, so three stars it is.

  9. Meh, this was so so The quotes that say the author is the next Stephen King were way off the mark As I would say, this one is mildly diverting but not something I d likely reread.
