About "Lindsey Black"

  1. Lindsey Black

LINDSEY BLACK lives in Darwin, Australia, where the weather report permanently reads humidity at 100%, only going to get worse for ten months of the year and monsoon at 4 00 p.m for exactly fifteen minutes for the remaining two Between teaching and studying full time, she escapes this oppressive environment to bushwalk for weeks on end wherever the mobile phone reception has zero bars for as long as possible and the weather report reads something along the lines of blizzard likely She enjoys martial arts, music, and mayhem, which explains the untidy state of her home where she attempts to write while splitting her minimal amounts of spare time between her incredulous husband, lazy Chinchilla cat, and crazed Siberian husky If you expect her to sit and have a chat, it s best to have a matcha green tea latte with almond milk on hand and your hiking boots within reach Oh, and be sure to bring a guitar for impromptu jam sessions.

  1. DNF 53%I just couldn t get in to this one There was nothing really wrong with it But I don t know really happened It kind of reminded me of this series Borrowing Blue But maybe not quote as OTT But the family dynamics were similar It was definitely insta lust too I don t knowere just wasn t enough happening to hold my interest.

  2. 2.5 My favorite thing about this book was the warm, loving relationship between the twin brothers Taylor and Clay They bantered and argued, but they were incredibly supportive and protective of one another Clay has a long term boyfriend whom he adores, but Tay is single Supposedly, this is partly because Tay is an asshole But he really isn t He s gruff, sure, but an asshole I didn t get that at all. When Tay meets Sietta, in the middle of his parents political rally on board a ferry, he s immedia [...]

  3. While I definitely get the appeal of this book, it was trying way too hard to be funny for me to really like it.What bothered me the most was that I often felt as if there was no gradual transition from one scene place to another I often found myself confused and wondering who was where and doing what while the people on page were bantering and trying to be funny without any introduction We just fell right into a scene And that s why I never felt as if I was really there, just standing on the si [...]

  4. I loved this book LOVED IT This was such a winner for me.There was so much going on in the book and it all flowed together perfectly I am in awe of the amount of people and stuff that was involved but how I never felt confused or overwhelmed If anything, I could have continued reading about them for days I really hope there will be another book I want of all of them, even the kids Taylor s family was insane crazy but not in your face or too over the top They were perfect and I loved all of them [...]

  5. I enjoyed it but it got extremely repetitive at times Plus Taylor was supposed to be this huge asshole but I never saw it Never once did he come across as an asshole Quite the opposite actually But I did really enjoy the closeness of the family.

  6. Riot squad officer Taylor Jameson is an asshole and pretty much everyone from his family to his squad mates know it His twin brother, riot squad officer Clayton Jameson, is the nice one, but when Sietta Salisbury reaches out for help he s drawn immediately to Taylor And Taylor, for the first time in his life, is drawn right back.Fishy Riot is from Taylor s single POV, but the reader still gets a good sense of the other characters, including Sietta Even though Sietta has experienced some horrific [...]

  7. 5 Hearts This book This book was so much than I could have hoped for I mean, I wanted to read it based on the opening line of the blurb, Most people think riot squad officer Taylor Jameson is an asshole because I have a thing for redeemable assholes but Taylor isn t one at all Nope Not At All.There are books that go beyond the blurb and this goes way freaking beyond it While you do get Taylor s meddlesome family and Sietta being a mystery, there are many layers to the story I wasn t expecting [...]

  8. Taylor and his twin brother are riot squad officers and work a lot of dangerous cases They come from a big, meddlesome family and they have a lot of siblings who work in related jobs ie firemen, doctors etc Taylor has the reputation of being the mean one and his family drives him a bit nuts One day while working a case, he meets Sietta Salisbury, the son of a rich and powerful politician Sietta s younger brother slips Taylor a USB that will forever change all of their lives. This story was action [...]

  9. Not sure how I feel about this one I was super excited for its release it sounded awesome My verdict Too family heavy for me Family drama Not sure Just too many family members, they re all kinda obnoxious and over the top plus they kept going on about the same things over and over which didn t move the plot forward at all I mean, six siblings, mother and father who are all in your face plus friends and nieces Too much for me.Everything felt kind of all over the place I liked Sietta a whole lot b [...]

  10. 4.5 Stars Taylor Jameson is cranky, and sometimes you have to wonder if it s his crazy, funny, loving family that makes him so Taylor and his brother Clayton are very enthusiastic about their jobs, they ve gotten into some crazy chaos than once, and when things go south, the whole family gets involved any way they can. When Taylor s squad gets the call to protect the rich and elite youth at a political fundraiser on a harbour ferry, they aren t really excited about it Taylor knows it s only for [...]

  11. I enjoyed this one quite a bit One day, I ll write an awesome review Today is not that day.

  12. Full review at OptimuMM Home of MM Book ReviewsMy first read from this author and damn if she isn t good This book it s not what I was expecting It surprised me in a good way.Taylor and Clay are twins, attached at the hip They both work in law enforcement in Sydney being members of the Riot Squad They are big, like huge big They think alike, walk alike and breath alike When you look at them, you think you are drunk, and you re seeing double Clay is in a relationship with Joel, a university profe [...]

  13. I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads This story of a slightly insane Australian police riot squad will appeal to fans of AE Via, Abigail Roux and Charlie Cochet Full of testosterone, explosions and dark humour, this may not be a terribly realistic police procedural but it is a highly entertaining read This is Taylor s story An enormous blonde viking lookalike, he works with his twin brother on the riot squad At the start of the story, he finds himself policing a pa [...]

  14. 4.4 StarsAgain, I m surprised by how much I like this book I ve often mentioned that certain books have such great stories interesting characters that they would lend well were it to ever be filmed for television or the big screen This book Started off sounding and feeling like it was a movie or miniseries To some that might not be a compliment, but coming from me it totally is Like others I had a hard time seeing Taylor s inner asshole but the severe lack of Sietta exhibiting any real PTSD or t [...]

  15. I don t think I ve read a book with so many characters that we get to hear so much from, that we get to know individually and that all add to what is essentially a really fun read I enjoyed all their input but it was little Emma that stole the show for me with her exasperation over her uncles and their carelessness. The story, set in Australia, is told from the pov of Taylor, a riot squad officer and all round grumpy git His identical twin brother Clayton with whom he lives and works is the yin t [...]

  16. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed the story I loved Taylor even though he was supposed to be the a hole Sietta in my head was older, in the book he is only 22 but for some reason my mind kept wanting to think he was older than that, don t ask me why though I loved the bond between twins Taylor and Clay, which you could feel through the entire book I also loved all the secondar [...]

  17. Serious subject but a lot of humor involved in the story about abuse and crime I loved the story but found myself wanting to kill most of Sietta s family in the most painful ways no one should have to go through what he did To think that this family produced two good people when everyone else was so bad Taylor and his twin Clay are riot police They first see Sietta on a boat they where sent to protect the kids on Later they Rescue him from where his family has Sietta held captive when they final [...]

  18. Fishy Riot by Lindsey Black review by Dawn Honeycutt4.5 Stars I loved this book The story takes place in Australia.Identical twins, Taylor and Clay Jameson, are riot squad officers They live together, run together, go out on riot squads together, and that is how they both want it Clay has a boyfriend, Joel, who he spends nights with, but he has to be at his apartment with Taylor at least part of the time or they miss each other Clay is the nice twin Taylor is the asshole Everyone knows this and [...]

  19. Originally appeared on Love is Love Book Reviews.Sydney, Australia Riot Squad police officer falls for the severely abused son or a bigwig politician Sounds like the set up for an angsty hurt comfort romance, right Wrong This is an action packed, funny read, although it s sometimes to the story s detriment.I loved Taylor He s a huge, hot, and unapologetic asshole, mostly because it gets him what he wants rather than truly being a jerk It s also his designated role in his big, boisterous, bat shi [...]

  20. Review can be read at It s About The BookTaylor Jameson is a bit transfixed by Sietta Salisbury at first sight It s a multi faceted fixation Sietta is stunning He s also pretty fishy Something is not right Taylor s brother Clay agrees and they set about looking into the fishiness of Sietta and the Salisbury family It s not just fishy, it s bad Very bad Thankfully, as a riot squad officer, Taylor is able to do something about it Getting Sietta and his younger brother Micah out of their parents ho [...]

  21. 4.5 StarsI really enjoyed this book I ll admit when it opened it took me a bit to get used to the author s style I never read Lindsey Black before so I knew this was a possibility But I caught on quickly and just enjoyed the ride. There are so many characters in this book We have Taylor, who is an identical twin with Clay Both are part of the Riot Squad It s how Taylor meets Sietta and how the insanity begins Of course, you know the second you meet Sietta that something is wrong You also know tha [...]

  22. Promising, talented new author Accept this as the RomCom it is.Sometimes I want to read angst and cry my eyes out on the way to the HEA Sometimes I want to laugh as the characters fall in love This book is definitely the latter Early in the book, I decided that the emotional stuff and there would be lots happened off camera and to just enjoy the read.Humor is subjective, and this author hit my funny bone So many of the brotherly snarky funny exchanges reminded me of me and my sister, lol That sa [...]

  23. A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words reviewRating 4.5 stars out of 5for the full review, visit wp p220KL aiBFrom that review What does it tell you about a story that when I was finished, I dropped everything to try and search out everything else I could find by this author It says I was in love with Fishy Riot from beginning to end and wanted I was even surprised to find that this appears to be the author s first published story If so, what a great way to begin Fishy Riot is about Taylor James [...]

  24. The book was fun and there was some good banter between the brothers The main and secondary characters were all likeable, but there were just too darn many of them I felt as if I was reading the second or third book in a series, and I was reading a continuing synopsis of what they all did in the earlier stories Taylor s family was fun and crazy, but after a while it got to be too much And the five year old was both funny and annoying at the same time The action and suspense plot were well done, [...]

  25. This book is a really good read Love Taylor and Clay s family I could read endlessly about them Clay and Taylor are twins and their closeness comes across so nicely I don t really understand why Taylor is thought to be an asshole Throughout the book there is very little evidence for that He might not ask or even know about his colleague s kids but he is a very caring brother, dotting uncle, responsible person and very understanding and caring partner.Sietta, for all he has undergone, comes acros [...]

  26. Omg This book is hilarious, I wish this family was real I can t say too much with out giving it away but Emma is hilarious I love the entire family in this book All told from Taylor s point of view but you get to know and love them all Can t wait for the next one There better be a next one

  27. I love debut authors and I think Lindsey Black has a bright career in front of her There were so many elements to this story but I never felt overwhelmed I was super in love with the whole Jameson clan They were annoying, intrusive, loud, and wonderful You can see my full review here christinasbookshelf 2017 0

  28. oh my God this was a hilariously funny book hilariously dark, and lovely I loved the relationship between jameson s but especially the one between clay and taylor two halves of a whole and Emma, omG she took the book from funny to downright hilarious
